Of the applications received, these two young women stood out for their passion for the sport, and their dedication to raising their skill level through hard work in a well-recognized program.
Congratulations to Katie Pierce of Marblehead, who plans to use her scholarship in the Tufts Volleyball camp. Her commitment to growing her skills as a setter and broadening her abilities in the sport as a whole came through clearly in her application.
While the Scholarship is designed to favor Marblehead residents, one application from out of town was so outstanding that it clearly deserved to be one of the inaugural awardees. Congratulations to Joie Dillon of Peabody, a sophomore at Bishop Fenwick, whose love of the sport and dedication to become the best individual and team player she can be reminded the Committee of Megan’s own passion for volleyball. Joie will use her award at the Avidity Camp this summer and the Nike Volleyball camp at Endicott College.
The Committee would like to thank all of the applicants for this year’s awards. We are extremely grateful to all of the generous donors who have made the Scholarship possible.
